On a day like today we just need to look forward. This should be true in life, but also happens to be the title of our next publication, due out in late 2026.

We are very grateful to our partners in the project who are the Art & Energy Collective, Regen, The Centre for Sustainable Practice in the Arts (based in Canada), ClimateCultures, Climate Museum UK and Climate Connections (Plymouth City Council). Our academic partner is Middlesex University. We’ve already reference the work of Art & Energy a number of times and will talk about our other partner in due course but today, a bit about regen.co.uk

Regen (which you may also see referred to historically as Regen SW) is one of the true pioneers of climate change mitigation and Net Zero policies and practicalities. For more than a quarter of a century Regen has been one ot the primary research and consultancy organisations around areas of clean power technologies, low-carbon home building, community power and energy-social justice issues. They have helped governments, organisations and individuals understand better what it means to transition to a clean energy economy and for, well I don’t know quite how many years now, has led on the Green Energy Awards scheme which rewards organisations, companies and individuals making a significant contribution to new energy models and Net Zero initiatives.

Regen is a membership organisation with over 150 members who share our mission, including clean energy developers, businesses, local authorities, community energy groups and research organisations across the energy sector. We manage the Electricity Storage Network (ESN) – the industry group and voice of the grid-scale electricity storage industry in GB.

Regen provides independent, evidence-led insight and advice in support of our mission to transform the UK’s energy system for a net zero future. We focus on analysing the systemic challenges of decarbonising power, heat and transport. We know that a transformation of this scale will require engaging the whole of society in a just transition.

We’re absolutely thrilled to have them with us as a partner on this publication for which there is an open call for submissions. If you’d like to read more about this find the book at https://artearthbooks.com/a-day-like-today/  The deadline for submissions is May 9. At this stage we are only asking for 400 word summaries, not your finished contribution.
